Food Labeling Health Claims FAQs - Health claims in food labeling are claims that have been reviewed by FDA and are allowed on food products to show that a food or food component may reduce the risk of a disease or a health-related condition.
Evidence Aggregation for Answer Re-Ranking in Open-Domain Question Answering - A popular recent approach to answering open-domain questions is to firstsearch for question-related passages and then apply reading comprehensionmodels to extract answers. Existing methods usually extract answers from singlepassages independently. But some questions require a combination of evidencefrom across different sources to answer correctly. In this paper, we proposetwo models which make use of multiple passages to generate their answers. Bothuse an answer-reranking approach which reorders the answer candidates generatedby an existing state-of-the-art QA model. We propose two methods, namely,strength-based re-ranking and coverage-based re-ranking, to make use of theaggregated evidence from different passages to better determine the answer. Ourmodels have achieved state-of-the-art results on three public open-domain QAdatasets: Quasar-T, SearchQA and the open-domain version of TriviaQA, withabout 8 percentage points of improvement over the former two datasets.
Question Answering on Freebase via Relation Extraction and Textual Evidence - Existing knowledge-based question answering systems often rely on smallannotated training data. While shallow methods like relation extraction arerobust to data scarcity, they are less expressive than the deep meaningrepresentation methods like semantic parsing, thereby failing at answeringquestions involving multiple constraints. Here we alleviate this problem byempowering a relation extraction method with additional evidence fromWikipedia. We first present a neural network based relation extractor toretrieve the candidate answers from Freebase, and then infer over Wikipedia tovalidate these answers. Experiments on the WebQuestions question answeringdataset show that our method achieves an F_1 of 53.3%, a substantialimprovement over the state-of-the-art.
